Constitution Hill, Aberystwyth
50/52

By some miracle, it didn't rain yesterday and we had a lovely meeting with our son and daughter in Aber. We had lunch, did a bit of shopping and wandered around reminiscing about the times we came here when our son and daughter were still children.

It does look a bit bleak in the photo and it was chilly -- we'd had to scrape ice off the Daihatsu before we could set off -- but it wasn't unpleasant.

In fact, as this photo shows, there were even a few other people walking along the prom.

I love the winter beach. And there is nothing at all wrong with a grey day. I think it is good for your eyes.

Unfortunately, too many grey days are not good for my spirit. But that day wasn't actually too bad, considering the time of year.

I had a dejavú when I saw the pictures as I have been here in June 2011, doing the hikingtour with some friends on Glydwrs Way.

I remember you doing that hiking tour. I have fond memories of Aber too because I was a student here many years ago and it was where I met my husband.

Good to see Aberystwyth restore after last winter's storms. :)

Hmm. That does look cold. Everyone looks like they're suitably rugged up.

It wasn't actually too bad, considering the time of year. Being right by the coast, it almost never gets below freezing or snows, but it can be very wet!

That looks like a pleasant day for a winter seaside walk, despite the greyness - no-one battling to walk against the wind and no huge crashing waves...

No, we were very lucky because we can get endless days of steady rain sweeping in from the sea. Even a dry overcast day can be a gift at this time of year.

I don't think it looks bleak at all, it looks clear and beautiful!

I am glad you get that dose of artificial light every AM. Except if it is raining, we get at least a bit of sun every day. Such different climates!
