Taking a day off
Apart from absolutely necessary basic chores, I've been having a lazy day today as a reward for finally making it to the dentist. I hadn't been for a few years and I knew there were a few problems that needed fixing, but I find visiting the dentist very stressful and during a stressful period, it was just one extra stress that I could do without so I'd been skipping routine checkups.

Anyway, I've now had my teeth cleaned and polished and the dentist didn't find any extra problems, other than the ones I was aware of, so I have another appointment in a couple of week's time to replace some broken fillings and then I'll try to get back into a proper schedule of going annually.

That is wonderful! I try to go every 6 months and then I don't fret at all. But I am way overdue with the move. I am sure you feel relief!

Strangely, as soon as I made the appointment, I felt a huge sense of relief. I kept going into a guilt spiral about knowing I ought to get a checkup, but then putting it off and feeling guilty about putting it off.

I hate that feeling! That is why I try to plan for every 6 months, if something comes up it would still be every year.
(I have had some bad root canal situations in the past).
