If I have a cold now, at least I won't have one over Christmas :)

What a darling tree!

I find that I read the news part of the newspaper only about once a week now, and I've never been one to watch news on the TV. It helps me deal with today's world. Of course, now I've got a big stack of news-sections of the paper stacked up waiting for me...

Thank you. It is a very cute tree. It's fake, but quite realistic. A two-foot tree is plenty big enough now there are just the two of us. The offspring do their own Christmases down in South Wales but we'll be travelling to see them in the new year.

I've never previously been one to get involved in politics, but Brexit has hit me hard and for the first time in my life, I've got involved in protests and writing letters to MPs. I don't know what the future will bring, but I'm hoping for the day when I can start ignoring the news again because it's boring.

Anyway, I'm going to try to ignore politics for a couple of days over Christmas. I'll take some time out and enjoy a good book or two.

I hope you have a good Christmas.

We have an artificial tree as well, as I'm allergic to the real ones. Our region grows Christmas trees and ships them around the country, so it's kind of strange not to have a real one, but I do like the fake one.

I hope you find your news-holiday refreshing and that you enjoy your books. I just finished reading a book written for that very purpose, as it was basically "Presidential fan fiction"! It was Hope Never Dies, I think by Andrew Shaffer? The premise is that it's 2017 and former VP Joe Biden really misses his best friend Barack, then the two of them find themselves working together to solve a mystery. Anyway... do you read the Laurie R. King books? The new one is great!
