And here trees are so plentiful that no one would think to carry stone about.

Now that I think about it, we do have two categories of bridges that are often photographed, if you're interested. We have old-fashioned "covered bridges" that I think were originally designed to make them safe during winter frosts (like so). We also had an era in the 1930s for building beautiful bridges to connect the many towns along the coast, using a variety of architectural styles. This one is my favorite (about 10 miles north of my hometown), and this one was our local bridge.
