Weekend summary

Didn't do as much useful stuff as I wanted to, but I did have a restful and enjoyable couple of days. Yesterday morning I faffed around and did a few bits and pieces. I paid the credit card bills and caught up with rasfc and the OU tutor group for the fiction writing course I tutor. Also retrieved the Daihatsu, which passed its MOT test without needing major stuff doing to it. It does need new brake pads, so it will go in again next week for those.

After lunch, I finished the comments on the last couple of Child-POV stories and, as it was a glorious day, I went for a walk and took photos. I experimented with the macro setting on the Olympus and was quite pleased with the results. In the evening, I made pizza for me from a pizza dough mix, which turned out perfectly acceptable. I'd left beef in the slow-cooker for G, so he had that with baked potato and peas.

Today we went for lunch at the Grapes in Maentwrog and I did a new Photo of the Week page. When I started that, I did actually update it every couple of weeks, but the "Photo of the Week" had turned into the "Photo of the Year" based on how long it was since I last changed it. Anyway, here it is, including exciting photo of a lesser celendine, with added insect. Also see the pretty catkins and read about an ancient murder.

As I'm still not really very hungry after the huge lunch, I'm just having a snack while I write this, then it's downstairs to curl up in front of the TV to watch part 2 of the drama Archangel.

G and I had our flu jabs this morning. They were using the same system as for the covid shots, that is they take over the leisure centre and have…

  • Busy morning

G wanted to have lunch out at the cafe in Fairbourne. We'd planned to do this a few weeks ago, but the surveying didn't take as long as we thought it…
