Today was fine and even turned sunny

...which would have been lovely, except I'm sure that the last time I looked at the forecast yesterday it was supposed to rain all day today. I had therefore planned indoors things to do and didn't realise until too late that they'd basically moved the wet day on by 24 hours so now tomorrow will be the very wet day and I could have done some gardening today.

Speaking of which, I was looking out through the conservatory window and noticed some purple flowers down at the bottom of the garden. When I went to investigate I discovered that a shrub I had planned to remove because it had sprouted up uninvited was now sporting these pretty flowers. If anyone has any idea what it is, I'd be very grateful.
