It was indeed very nice. Traditionally (according to my Indian cookery book) Gujarati curry contains green beans, but I didn't have those so I made it with a bit of green sweet pepper and a handful of peas to add a bit of vegetable interest to the chicken. But how had the kit come to be at the back of my cupboard?
The nearest Marks & Spencers (famous for their food), is a 1 hour drive away. The only things I've ever bought in that M&S are sandwiches and possibly a pizza or other quick and easy meal to have on returning home after a day out in the town. Otherwise I do buy M&S food if/when we're on holiday and have rented an apartment, but again I wouldn't buy a curry kit because if I'm on holiday and cooking in a strange kitchen, I usually opt for the convenience of ready meals or something really simple.
The only possibility I can think of is that it came in one of the food hampers our children now buy us for Christmas and birthdays, but I have no idea why it got stuck at the back of the cupboard and forgotten about instead of being used up promptly.
