Taming the wilderness

I did mow the grass in the back garden, so that's under control again. And not a moment too soon. It can only be three weeks since I last mowed it, but even so I found several bramble runners about 9 feet long sneaking out into the garden and I mowed down 2 tiny oak saplings. If I didn't keep constantly battling against nature, we'd have primeval forest right up to the back door within about 6 months, the way things keep growing.

There were blackberries though, the upside to having the garden invaded by brambles. They were delicious in a pie eaten as a dessert after dinner. *g*
