Today's portion included the sex scene in which Ceri is nearly (but not quite) unfaithful to Wil. It wasn't as bad as I'd feared (I have very little experience in writing sex scenes *g*) and I think works OK.

I'd also forgotten that I'd had Ceri think about sabotaging the lift back in Chapter 15. I've now removed the reference to that and so her motivation for looking for Gregor is simply to find out how the Earth Mages are progressing with the lift fields which are designed to move the mountain to its new location.

Daily haiku challenge

Lots of people are doing NaNoWriMo or talking about doing it or talking about why they're not doing it. Last year I piggy-backed on all the writing enthusiasm to spur me on to one of my best writing months on recond, a grand total of 10,112 words. This year I'm revising not writing first draft, so therefore my target for the month is to complete the revision of Moving a Mountain so it's ready to send out to first readers in December.

Nicky on rasfc has set herself the challenge of writing a short story per day during November. There is no way I can do this, though I'm thinking of trying it in February, so my challenge for new writing is to write one haiku per day. In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, they can be as bad as I like, just so long as I do one every day.

As I'm already behind, here are two haiku to get me started.

damp wind blowing
yellow leaves fluttering
mild November

pink flowers turn to brown
but cupped in a fleshy leaf
tiny black seeds
