I've hit the half way point! I just hope that I don't slow down now because due to working backwards, I've now reached the opening chapters where I didn't know the characters as well.

It's still cold here, but I did go out for a walk today along the old railway as far as the George III pub where the toll bridge crosses the estuary. They were repairing what we always call "The Bird Box", that is the old signal box that is now a vantage point and information centre for watching birds. There are binoculars available for the public to use and information on what kind of birds can be seen.
So today's haiku was about birds...
at the water's edge
the grey goose stands on one leg
ignoring the swans
