Lots of cutting. Lots of substituting better words and sharper phrases for the flabby waffle that this first draft seems to consist of. Ugh! I don't remember it being this bad.

Anyway, it's a good learning experience, trying to make, if not a silk purse, at least a serviceable leather wallet out of a sow's ear. I must do the circular diagram at the weekend, also fill out the mindmap plot structure.

Otherwise it was another busy day at work. I enveloped the last of the letters to students and gave them to Nia for posting. I finished the handout on spreadsheets and wrote a couple of web pages showing what courses students can progress to once they've finished the Starting Out With Computers course. Interspersed amongst all this was dealing with phone queries from students interested in courses.

One spot of good news was that it seems that I might be able to spend Tuesday afternoons having Welsh lessons. The college has always expressed a desire that I should improve my Welsh and actually start using it in my teaching, but I think it's finally dawned on them that unless they give me some time to actually attend a class, it's just not going to happen by magic. As it is, I feel on a plateau. I'm hanging onto what I've learned, but not getting any further forward.

Oh, and I think I have a cold coming on. Typical! Everyone returns to work and swaps germs.
