I am currently at our daughter's house. I have met my granddaughter!
Baby Erin is really cute. Not that she does much yet, other than wave her hands around, suckle, whimper occasionally and sleep. Mostly she sleeps. *g*
I have been hammering along, making really good progress, but I have just driven the juggernaut of the story into a dead end. I can see the road ahead, but there is a big chasm with a Road Closed sign between where I am now and where I want to be.
I realised yesterday that I took a wrong turning many chapters back. But I had a flash of inspiration last night and did some more thinking on the train today and it won't be too hard to put right.
For now I will invoke the power of the bracket comment and say:
[Mark and Berenys became lovers on the night after the Big Battle]
and carry on from where I am now as though that scene and the subsequent ones were already written.
Right now I'm chilling out at my daughter's house, but forward progress will be resumed on Monday.
