This week's theme was: A pop of colour.

These bright red rowan berries (aka mountain ash) caught my eye yesterday.

The old weather lore says that a heavy crop of berries foretells a hard winter to come. There were certainly lots of berries last summer and a bad winter followed, so I hope we're not in for another one.

Some sort of umbelliferous flower

26/52 for T189ers Photo-a-week.

This week's theme was: 50mm.

I don't have a 50mm lens and the markings on my kit lens only show 35 and 55, so I had to guess. The Exif data says that it was actually 49mm, so I hope this is close enough!

One of these days I will learn to identify flowers, but this was a sweet-smelling umbelliferous flower of some kind growing by the river.
