Vintage bus in Llandudno

45/52 for the group T189ers photo-a-week

This week's theme: Sepia

The light was awful in Llandudno yesterday. It is a lovely Victorian seaside town that is more unspoilt than many, but the poor light made it difficult to find a subject, and of course being the middle of November, the Great Orme railway wasn't running. However, I did manage to capture this beautiful vintage bus.

I went for a 1930s snapshot look. Just for comparison, the unedited, straight from camera version is shown below.

This week's theme: Before and after

The SOOC of this shot is shown below.

I waited until Friday to take the shots for this week, but I was sadly disappointed with the light. This was taken at 3 in the afternoon! Yes, I know it's mid-November, but it shouldn't be this dark.

Anyway, I cropped the shot and cloned out the swans. I used the dodge and burn tool to add the slight vignetting. I upped the saturation a little to make the reflected light stand out better and painted in a touch of colour on the horizon where it had burned out to white.

This is the un-retouched original.
