Last Saturday's field trip

As it's been a horrible grey wet Thursday, I thought I'd post the photos from last Saturday's field trip to the Cregennen Lakes. This is one of my favourite places and it didn't disappoint. The weather was glorious, especially for October, and the lake was as still as a mirror. Literally. Here is the proof.

Cregennen Lakes

It was a mixed group consisting of 4 over-65's from the University of the Third Age group and 5 of G's A-level geology students. This worked surprisingly well considering the groups hadn't met before. There was one worrying moment when one of the elderly students collapsed feeling very faint, but to my huge relief, after sitting quietly, having and drink of tea and eating some of my jelly babies (for the sugar), he recovered and in fact completed the rest of the walk in fine form.

And finally, a shot showing a typical upland lake. Llyn Pen Moelyn with Cadair Idris in the background.
