Stream

The weather forecast predicted rain sweeping in (yet again!) later in the day, so I grabbed the chance of a morning walk. It was Boxing Day, so very quiet.

This stream is in a field I used to rent when I kept ponies.

Though my official photo for week 52 of 52 of 2012 was a photo taken last February (to fit the theme of My Favourite Photo Taken This Year And Not Already Submitted To The Group), I wanted to finish the year with a photo actually taken in the final week, so this is my unoffficial 52/52.

Behind the cut is another photo also taken this morning on the same walk.

This week's theme: Z is for Zen

Zen is not an easy thing to photograph, so I took my statuette of Gyanyin out for a morning walk, looking for a suitable peaceful place for her to meditate in.

Guanyin is a very popular bodhisattva in East Asia and her name is variously spelled Guanyin, Kuan Yin, Gwan-eum and (in Japan) Kannon. She is important to Zen Buddhists, so I hope she counts for this week's topic. :)

What I hadn't realised, until I looked up Guanyin just now, was that Cannon cameras are named after Guanyin/Kannon.
