Crochet hexagons

I've been crocheting these hexagons from a pattern I found on the web. The original was for a blanket, but I wanted something smaller and I thought it would make a cheerful cushion cover.

Hexagons are well known for being a tessellate shape. Bees use them and they're a traditional shape for patchwork quilts. Unfortunately, you end up with a zig-zag edge. No problem if you're making a shawl or blanket, but it's not going to work for a square cushion.

So my next job is to design a half-hexagon to match and also work out how to fill in the little triangles!

4/52 for the group T189ers weekly alphabet challenge

The set theme was: B is for Bottle

Lacking any beautiful perfume or drinks bottles, I resorted to the mundane. :)

I do feel that I'm treading water with the photography at the moment. However, these weekly challenges do ensure that I pick the camera up at least once a week and take some photos. Also, they stop me just defaulting to landscapes.

I suppose it's a bit like the daily pages for writing. It keeps your hand in so that when something really good comes along, your skills are up to tackling it.
