48/52 for the group 52 in 2013

This week's theme was: Thankful

It may be a sign of encroaching old age, but I am always thankful for small pleasures, like a nice cup of tea and biscuit. I'm also thankful that I never have to worry where my next snack or meal will come from and I have clean water to drink. Not everyone can take that for granted.

In other news, a package arrived today, which might signal another step into old ladyhood. Dare I admit it? I have bought a shopping trolley. The supermarket is within easy walking distance and, particularly if I've been working on the computer all day, I really prefer to walk in to do my shopping, rather than drive. But then I have to lug everything home and carrying heavy bags doesn't do my shoulders and hands any good, especially in cold weather. Anyway, I plan to take the trolley for a test run shortly, so I hope it proves up to the job.

48/52 for the group T189 alphabet challenge

The set theme was: X for Xeric

Xeric means "deficient in moisture" and that definitely applies to biscuits. Once they've absorbed moisture a biscuit loses its crunch and all of it's appeal. :)

Featured here are two of my favourite kinds of biscuit: chocolate digestives and Garibaldi biscuits.
