Percentage complete: 75%

Point reached on journey: We have crossed a small stream and can see the beacon hill of Minrimmon on the right. To the north the delta of the Entwash has broadened to over 50 miles. Rauros lies beyond, 100 miles due north of the road.

Where I really went...

As previously mentioned, I had to make a trip to Aberystwyth to do various errands that couldn't be done locally. Once my Dad's cheque had been safely banked and my watch had had a new battery fitted, I wandered along the sea front to get a bit of exercise before hitting the clothes shops to buy a few new tops for spring.

It was very cold and grey. On my walk I, as I was there, I took the opportunity to attack an enemy Ingress portal in passing, namely this shelter on the promenade.

I tried a couple of clothes shops and in the second one I did manage to buy two cardigans, a thinner sweater and a cotton summer top. The sizing was, however, bizarre. I can normally wear a UK size 12 in tops, so selected 4 items, all size 12 to try on. Two fitted perfectly, though I didn't like the sleeves on one so rejected it. The sweater was a little tight and the cardigan wouldn't even meet at the front! So I left with 1 top size 12, 1 sweater size 14 and 2 cardigans size 16 in order to get things that fitted. That's all one brand, in one store.

On the way back to the car park, I snapped this photo of the weekly protest, which is behind a cut in case you find such things boring...Collapse )
