Round the edge of town

Yesterday I went for a little wander around some of the narrow lanes on the edge of town. I needed to pick up the new edition of the Quaker address booklet and after I'd done that I walked a convoluted route to get a bit of exercise on the way back home. Coming down through the small wood, the light on the tree caught my eye.

The building on the right is an ancient well that was once a water supply for the that part of town.

Still heading away from home, I was looking for something "quaint" for the weekly alphabet photo theme. We have some lovely quaint stone cottages in town but it was difficult to find one without a car or a wheelie bin outside it, however I think this one counts as "quaint".

Today is fine and warm enough to take a cup of tea and a book out into the garden for a few minutes this afternoon. However, I have brought the plastic garden table and chair indoors because we have torrential rain and gale force winds forecast for tomorrow. What do you expect on a Bank Holiday? :-(
