NaNoWriMo Day 12 -- 3377 / 9000 (38%)

Still just about meeting my NaNoWriMo target. The average has slipped a little (should be 300 words per day) but I hope to catch up over the weekend. Writing 375 words per day will put the average back on track.

Words written during November: 3377 / 9000 (38%)
Writing days: 12/12
Average no. of words written each day: 281

I only managed a token 28 words today. I was out all morning visiting my elderly friend and did the top-up food shop on the way home. Then I walked into town this afternoon to pick up a prescription, which wasn't ready and to accompany G while he got his booster jab in the leisure centre. I had to wait quite a while because the boosters are the Pfizer jab and they're making people wait to ensure there is no adverse reaction. So after waiting in the cold for nearly half an hour, I now feel too tired to focus on writing in Welsh. I've just added a final sentence to the end of Chapter 2 and I'll start Chapter 3 tomorrow.

The story is progressing well. I did plan this more than I usually do, but writing in a second language I can't afford to do the "Write to Find Out" method because the writing is much more effort than writing in English. I don't have a favourite character yet, but I like Enid who is (pronounced Ennid, the Welsh way) who is the main viewpoint. She's recently retired and has returned to the little town in Wales where she was born and grew up. She's brisk and no-nonsense and doesn't take fools gladly. She definitely doesn't believe in fairies or anything supernatural. However I also like Gareth, mid-20s, great with technical things and also sure that he, like his father, can see the tylwyth teg sometimes.
