Not a lot.
I Googled for some pictures of people who look more or less like my protags. This is just to help firm up the images in my head.
Finally plucked up the courage to submit a story to Escape Pod. I've been enjoying their podcasts over the past few weeks and I had a previously published story that was just the right length and which was suitably upbeat with moments of actual humour, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Decided that as Revealing Secrets is sulking and going nowhere, I'll have a bash at finishing the one about escaping from a desperately dreary life to faerie -- and then regretting it! Found the printouts and notes done at the point where the story stuck.
In other news...
The study makeover progressed considerably today, despite the fact that most of the work was done anywhere but in the study. First I had to do a heap of ironing to reduce the clean laundry pile that has built up in the conservatory. Then I had to further clear the conservatory by removing a number of items. To whit:
- heap of cardboard boxes removed and put ready for a bonfire later.
- new garden chairs (acquired with Texaco points), now tried out moved to the shed
- chest of drawers that had been in the bedroom and was too good to burn but not good enough to sell was put in the shed. I have stored the gardening gloves and small items like the trowel and giant hand scoopy things in it.
All this meant that I could now get G to help me carry the surplus desk downstairs to the conservatory. This is good enough to try to sell, just for a few pounds, so I'll make up a card and find a local shop that takes such adverts.
So now, finally, the room is cleared -- apart from the chest of drawers and bookcase, which are to be sanded and painted. There is nowhere to put these items, so I'll have to decorate round them.
But tomorrow I have a day off as I'm meeting my brother and his family in Crickhowell tomorrow.
