Is there something about the 2nd of October?

Today I revised an awful lot of words. (Though having said that, a lot of it was just glancing over it and saying, "No, that'll have to go. And that. And that.") Then just now, because I was feeling somehow rather weary, I decided to look back to see what I was doing on this day last year.

It's 12 months to the day since I finished the first draft of Moving a Mountain. And on that day I wrote 5480 words in one go. Not that I could do that every day, of course. But as I always say, when I do write, I produce a reasonable number of words; it's the non-writing days that pull my average down.
