Some good news and some bad news today regarding Moving a Mountain. (And it's still only 8.53 am!)

Tor don't think it's for them, but I did get my hook to the fangs_fur_fey Hook contest in time!

I had a reminder on the calendar about emailing the hook to the contest, but almost forgot about it due to the urgent need to tidy the house so we can get a plumber in to mend the leaky tap. Fortunately, I did sit down at my computer early enough to see my Note to Self and thus I got the hook sent just in time. It's number #225 out of #250, in case anyone wants to watch out for it when the crits go up.

I'm hoping the comments on the hook will shed some light on why the novel doesn't seem to be working for the publishers so far. Is it the way I'm describing it? Or is it something intrinsic to the story?

If it's the first case, then I can just work on my query letter to make it better, but if it's the latter, then I need to be more selective about where I send it.
