Camera comparison

I managed to snatch a few pictures just as I arrived at work this morning. All the photos were taken from exactly the same spot.

As is always the way with digital gadgets, the Canon PowerShot is far more powerful, has many more features and cost quite a bit less than I paid for the Olympus a couple of years ago.

However, the little Olympus has not been retired. Oh, no! Firstly it's far smaller than the Canon. Though I did bring it in to work with me today, I'm not going to lug a big camera around with me all the time. But I don't want to miss out on any chance pictures I happen to see. Secondly the Olympus is weatherproof. I know April and the beginning of May has been abnormally dry, but I often end up going for walks or taking pictures for G in the drizzle. I don't think the light plasticky body of the Canon would be good in adverse weather conditions.

And now, of course, I need to learn how to get the best out of the Canon. It's just as well I'm on a course that will help me. *g*
