More about lambs

Intrigued by the black and tan lamb, which is a coat pattern found commonly in dogs and rabbits, but not horses (not that I've ever seen) or cats (according to our cat book), I did a bit of Googling.

I think it's probably the black version of the badger faced sheep, as opposed to the black version of the Welsh mountain sheep, which is just plain black or very dark brown all over. The black and tan coat pattern is mentioned with regard to the American Navajo-Churro sheep, so is a known variant. It's just not one I've ever seen around here before, despite the many thousands of sheep we have in Wales.
