More photos from T189 Digital Photography

The main thing in the assignment this week was playing with exposure, either to blur motion, take pictures at night or under low light conditions and high contrast images.

I have to say that I'm not normally a big fan of arty blurred photos, even the "soft" blurry water that people seem so fond of, but I don't think these came out too badly.

Week 3 -- closeup of moving water
Week 3 -- closeup of moving water
This is a closeup of the moving water. I had to steady the camera on a rock to avoid camera shake -- which would have been the wrong kind of blur! (1/20 sec at f8)
Week 3 -- River Gwynant, North Wales
Week 3 -- River Gwynant, North Wales
This river flows in a deep valley which reduces the available light. I used aperture priority to ensure a good depth of field and a slow shutter speed. (1/5 sec at f8) Because I forgot my tripod, I rested the camera on a rock to avoid camera shake.
Week 3 -- Stream flowing into the Gwynant valley
Week 3 -- Stream flowing into the Gwynant valley
The light levels were low under the trees, so this gave me an exposure of 1/6 sec at f2.7, which was slow enough to blur the water.
