My students are always astonished when I tell them where I live. They seem boggled that I do an hour's commute each way. But with scenery like this to drive through, it's not like being stuck in a traffic jam in a city.

I know some of you are complaining of the cold and the rain, but I've had typical "back to work" weather both yesterday and today, ie absolutely glorious.

I have no idea why this is called "Loch Cafe". Loch is, of course, a Scottish word. The Welsh word for "lake" is "llyn". Bala Lake is Llyn Tegid in Welsh.
