Story Title: A Necessary Evil
Brand new words added to draft today: 362
Words revised skimmed over and added to draft today: 15,440
Words total: 38,303
Reason for stopping: Done two chapters which is quite enough.

It's a very curate's eggish draft at the moment. Lots of very blah prose with the occasional gem of a scene. I flagged one infodump.

However, I don't want to get bogged down with rewriting at the moment because there are gaps further on that need filling and the novel needs an ending. Once I have those -- and not before -- is the time to start revising the dodgy bits. What I will do though is to start making scene cards so that I can note what's working and what's not.

In other news, I'm using the Eee for this revision pass so I can work away from the temptations of the Web. I'm getting the hang of the keyboard and can type quite quickly on it now. I do occasionally have problems because I accidentally brush the touch pad and scroll the page without meaning too, but it seems to be easier to use the more I use it.
