He did adjust the filling slightly because he thought the bite might not be quite right, and thus putting too much pressure on the root and hence irritating it and causing the infection to flare up.
Basically I must now rest the tooth by not eating on the right side of my mouth and wait and see. Either the antibiotic will have dealt with the infection and the adjustment will prevent further irritation and another flare up, or it won't.
Next option will be root canal treatment, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay settled, even once I finish the antibiotic. I'm not altogether hopeful, but I'll cross that bridge it/when it looms on the horizon.
In other news... The reprieve over tooth treatments for today means that I can go and look at bathrooms this afternoon. I had been bemoaning the fact that, due to the tooth, another day off was going to go by without any progress in that department.
After a late night last night teaching an evening class in Cyffylliog, I didn't feel up to dashing out early this morning -- which would also have meant dashing back to see the dentist at midday -- and I'd fully expected to have a numb mouth this afternoon and thus be in no state to discuss bathroom makeovers. However, as I can talk normally, I'll just watch the rest of the Doctor Who episode "Silence in the Library" before it expires and then toddle off up the coast.
