Current reading

Still reading Divine Endurance. I have mixed feelings about this and am still suspending judgement. There are frequent info-dumps where I think, "Help, should I be taking notes here?", but it might turn out interesting yet.

Also just started Harri Potter a Maen yr Athronydd, that is the first Harry Potter book in Welsh. I managed to read page 1 over breakfast, which is pretty good going for me. The language is certainly simpler than the Welsh Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I was getting nowhere fast with that, but the Harri Potter is not so far beyond my understanding; I only need to look up about one word per sentence instead of every other word. Much easier to make progress. Much more satisfying. Which might be why a lot of kids that don't normally read book read this one. I mean the English original, of course, though the Welsh one might also do the same for kids' reading of Welsh books if the ones interviewed on TV last week are anything to go by.
