Writing progress

As my brain seems to be functioning better today, I started to do a bit on the WIP. I discovered that when I said I'm writing a shitty first draft, I really meant it.

Thursday was market day in Longleton, or so Wil and Ceri discovered when they walked into town the following morning in order to order more supplies for the hostel and buy a few personal items at the same time.

Yuch! Why does my brain do that kind of thing? I'm determined not to get sucked into the endless revision loop, but I can't let that pass. It now reads:

Thursday was market day in Longleton, or so Wil and Ceri discovered when they walked into town the following morning to order more supplies for the hostel and buy a few personal items.

No new words written today, but I have written 652 words of synopsis. This counts for lenient word count.

I'm taking the precaution of writing the synopsis chapter by chapter as I go along because the only thing I hate worse than writing first draft is writing a synopsis of a novel. I also plan to use the synopsis to help with revision. Only time will tell whether it is actually useful.
