Yesterday (as posted via Twitter tweets) I was in Caerleon in South Wales. G had to be in a meeting at 9.30 am at the University of Newport but he'd already arranged a field trip to Llanberis to look at slate mines. As he'd be too tired to drive down after being out all day and going down on Monday morning would have meant setting off at 5 am, I agreed that I'd drive him down on Sunday night, which meant I had a day out in Caerleon.
The Roman Amphitheatre

The remains of the Roman Barracks.

After having a wander around town and buying a cardigan and a sweater in a charity shop, I walked back up the hill to the campus and wrote about 750 words of a short story in the car using the Eee. (Short story is needed for the final assignment of the Creative Writing course.) I bought lunch in the cafe on campus and read and wrote until G was finished. Then we drove back home.
Today I've been frantically marking assignments. I still have too many deadlines, though I think I'm just going to have to postpone the BA Education assignments and do them over the summer. It'll mean I only get a bare pass, but to be honest, I don't care. It's the OU course I want a good grade on and I'm just too stressed at the moment.
I still haven't bought the things I need for the new doggie either! I'm going to have to pay a visit to the pet shop in Ruthin tomorrow, I think.
