First expotition on the kickbike

I managed to adjust the brakes today, pumped up the tyres a bit more and then spent the afternoon writing an essay because it was raining. :(

Thankfully, there was a dryish spell while the dinner was cooking, so I took the kickbike for a short spin along the old railway (now a cycle and walking trail).

The verdict is that it's definitely going to be fun. My scootering skills returned more quickly than I might have expected, considering that I can't have been on a scooter since I was 11 or so. I did about a mile and a half, and the cardiac workout was much better than either walking or cycling. I couldn't have walked the distance anything like as fast and I wouldn't have got out of breath cycling such a short distance. I need to do at least 4 or 5 miles on the bike to feel much benefit.

So, that means that I've not only reached Lothlorien, but I'm now 1½ miles on the road to Rauros Falls.

Walking to Lothlorien

Miles travelled yesterday: 1
Miles travelled so far: 462 (920 from Bag End)
Miles still to go: 0
Percentage complete: 100%

Point reached on journey: We have reached the Gates of Caras Galadan (south side) and climbed to meet Celeborn and Galadriel. We will stay in Lothlórien for a while -- well, at least overnight. :)

Where I really went... Well, as it was just into town to the Co-op, there aren't any pictures.

Now for the next leg.

Next destination: Rauros Falls

Miles travelled today: 1½
Miles travelled so far: 1½ (921½ from Bag End)
Miles still to go: 387½
Percentage complete: 0% (too small to show on the graph)
