Horrible things done to characters: Zanna has managed to decode most of the symbols on the scrap of embroidered silk. She thinks that her ordeal is nearly over because she's entering the palace to tell the authorities about the plot to blow up the God-King. Little does she know that everything is about to go horribly wrong. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-haaa!

Other: Having abandoned NaNoWriMo, I still felt I needed a target for November, so I adopted paragraphs's target of a half-NaNo of 25000.

I'm pleased to say that by settling to write first thing and not allowing myself to get distracted by the Interwebs, I managed a substantial 2455 words to achieve my goal!
