Computing the volume of a cat

A link via one of the OU's online student forums.

"Dunking it in water doesn't work-- you only get the volume of the rat-like creature that lives inside the cat..."

I am actually puzzled at all the photos of cats being washed that appear on lolcats and other places. I don't think we ever washed Catlet (see icon), though Fluffy did have to have a bath once or twice after she'd apparently been sleeping or rolling in something unspeakable. Is this a different approach to cat care on different sides of the Atlantic? Is it something to do with the hotter climate making bathing a cat a good way to cool it down?

In other news, the end of the essay is in sight, but I seem to be progressing more and more slowly. If only I could find the mental enthusiasm to sprint for the end.

*sigh*
