Death to all spammers

I've just looked at my work email and discovered lots of messages telling me that mail sent by colleagues (responding to a message I sent a few weeks ago) has been deleted as spam. Because (and I quote)

The subject line for this message contained characters (such as #~[]{}=-_^$|) that aren’t commonly used in everyday correspondence but are commonly used by e-mail “Spammers” to circumvent anti-spam software.

But it didn't have any odd symbols in the subject line. The suject was CLAIT SPOC Analysis. Sigh...

Now I have to go and ask the technicians to tweak their criteria to make them a bit more discerning.
