The clocks go back tonight

Cottage early morning

The clocks are about to go back, which will make it lighter in the mornings (though of course it will be darker earlier in the evenings) and yet again the perennial debate about whether we should stay on BST all year round has resurfaced in the media.

This photo was taken at 8 am yesterday and as you can see, it's still pretty gloomy here at that time in the morning in North Wales. (OK, the gloom is partly due to the clouds, but we get a lot of those here! :)) Further north, in the North of England and Scotland, it will be even darker.

Personally, I hate getting up in the dark so although I don't like the disruption of changing the clocks, my vote is for keeping the things the way they are.
