Eldon Square early morning - Helen's journal and online home
In which an old dog attempts to learn new tricks.
Eldon Square early morning

37/52 for the group 52 in Twenty Eleven

This week's theme: Street photography

I've tried street photography before with limited success. It's not that easy where I live because when it's busy, say on a Friday which is market day, the whole square is jammed up with cars which makes for a messy background. And if you try to shoot from the other side of the street using the zoom lens, the cars get in the way.

Anyway, this was taken at about 8.00 am and the only signs of life were the dog walkers or people like me who had run out of milk and had nipped in to buy some at the Spar.

Spar is a chain of small grocery stores which are widespread in Europe, though perhaps haven't made it to the US. In the UK, it's run as a franchise, so instead of just being a mom and pop store (which I think is what you call them), you can be a Spar and get all the branded goods, logos etc.
