2/52 for the group T189ers weekly alphabet challenge

This week's theme was: A for Apparition

This was quite challenging, especially as I had an essay deadline looming and thus less time for photography than usual.

I had thought of playing with a long exposure in the woods, but I didn't have the time or energy and the weather was wet and dreary. So on the way to the Welsh class, I grabbed this quick shot of the Owain Glyndwr statue in Corwen and tried to make it look like a ghostly knight.

I'm not entirely happy with some of the cloning and a better starting image would have made things easier, but I think the basic principle has worked.

Oh, I like the way the statue seems radiant. :)

Thanks. I did that by selecting the knight and turning it into a negative. :)

I had to clone out a lamp post and electric wire, though that was perfectly straightforward. The real problem was the parked car and trying to hide the plinth the statue was standing on.

Ah, that was clever. I like the way the statue appears almost as a bas-relief against the sky.

That's very spooky.

Thanks. I had a problem with trying to hide the plinth and the parked car that was behind the statue, but at least my idea about turning the black statue into a negative to make it look ghostly worked. :)
