2/52 for the group 52 of 2012

This week's theme: 5 minutes from my home (Walking, Cycling or Driving)

As long as you are reasonably fit (because it's uphill all the way!), you can reach this lovely path through the woods in five minutes from my house. If you continue upwards, the path goes past a rock cannon. If you go the other way towards the town, you will pass an ancient well. However, both of these are too far to reach in 5 minutes from my home. This pig statue is about as you can get in five minutes.

I don't know that it has any particular significance, but someone must have decided it would just make the walk more interesting.

Goodness. Is it meant to be an oracular pig, do you think?

It would be funny if there were different animals at distances. This could be the 5 Minute Pig...

I can only think of Henwen, Cerridwen's favourite sow who's rooting about created all the hills and valleys, but it doesn't look like a sow, so that's out. Other than that, it's a nice pig!

It's adorable! And it certainly must make the walk more interesting. It would be fun to find out the story behind it.

It has a nice place to root for things. Probably no truffles there, but it looks like a lot of variety.
