A new (to me) sewing machine

At Christmas I acquired my stepmother's old sewing machine. I don't know when it was last used, but it must be many years ago. It was, therefore, very dirty.

Today I gave it a quick wipe down and it's already looking better. This machine must date from the late 1960s, but as far as I know, it's in working order and can probably be serviced if necessary. I've been exploring sewing machine websites today and already managed to buy an instruction manual for it.

Though rather elderly, it is much newer than the machine I have been using up to now which once belonged to my mother-in-law. That (according to my research this morning) dates from 1931, was made in Clydebank in Scotland and is a hand wound machine, which means you only have one hand free to guide the material.

My next step is to try to open it up to clean and oil the insides.
