13/52 for the group T189ers weekly alphabet challenge

This week's theme was: G is for Garden

It's a bit early for flowers, though having said that, our garden is a mess at any time of the year and the only flowers it contains are dandelions! :)

This year I must get it under control. And yes, I say that every year, but this time I mean it. I really do.

Anyway, this is the view from the edge of the wood that comes to the bottom of our garden and I have made sure that the actual garden part is well blurred. :)

Ah, the joys of depth of field! The shrub in the foreground, what is that?

My garden isn't ready for prime time, either, but the hellebore and periwinkle are blooming up a storm, and the lilacs and daylilies are starting to leaf out. :-)

The leaves and berries in the foreground are ivy. That's the shape of leaf that grows on the uppermost parts of the plant where the flowers form in autumn and the berries appear in spring, in other words backwards to most plants.

Thanks for scratching a mental itch ... I knew it looked familiar, but couldn't dredge up the connection. :-)

Nice use of depth of field!

Thanks. The blurriness hides the fact that the brown band across the photo is a tangle of old brambles and the grass is all tussocky and overgrown. :)
