Bird's eye view of Barmouth

22/52 for the group 52 of 2012

This week's theme was: Bird's eye view (looking down on a subject)

I was a bit stumped at first because we have no high buildings in town and at first I thought I wasn't going anywhere suitable. To add to the problem, we've had a few days of cloud, low mist and rain, which were not conducive to climbing to high places. However, my husband suddenly announced that he needed to go to Barmouth to visit a student, so I offered to chauffeur him and while he went to his meeting, I climbed up behind the church to get some bird's eye views of the town.

Hmm. I like how, if you look at it another, the weather cock could also be the viewer...

You're right! I hadn't realised until you said it how clearly the weather cock stood out against the sand. Due to the main computer being poorly, I'm limiting my time on it and thus I just processed the pictures as quickly as possible and uploaded them. I didn't have time to look very hard at what I'd managed to capture.

Some climb (if on foot) but worth it!

Yes, it was on foot and it's a steep climb, but not a difficult one. There are houses at first, straggled up the hill, then there's a good track. It had been misty and cloudy in the morning, but fortunately it cleared in the afternoon.

What a great shot. I feel as if I truly could just fly across the roofs to the sea.

Thanks. That's the feeling I was trying for, so it's nice to know that it succeeded. :)

Spectacular.

Thanks. Mostly people take the view looking the other way, ie from the sea front looking up at the church which is on the hill behind the town.
