Saint Twrog's church, Maentwrog

This week's theme: Historic Landmark

Here is Saint Twrog's church on a horribly wet and windy June day. If it weren't for the leaves on the trees, you would have thought it was February! Note how the branches in the foreground are being bent by the wind!

Anyway, I suppose this counts as a landmark and it's certainly historic. If you click on the link above, it will take you to the Wikipedia page explaining the history of the site. Though this building is only 200 years old, there has been a church on the site since the 6th century.

Apologies for the quality of this week's photo. It was taken with my phone through the dining room window of the Grapes pub in Maentwrog. I had hoped to go somewhere like Harlech to photograph the castle, but the weather was so awful that it would have been a waste of time. In fact after four solid days of rain, I was beginning to worry that I wouldn't be able to find a shot for this theme. Fortunately my husband decided that he wanted to take a break and go out for lunch, hence I got the chance to photograph something a bit different, albeit a rather gloomy and wet something! :)

This was taken yesterday and thankfully the weather has now cleared up. The forecast even predicts a couple of sunny days. I foresee a frenzy of grass cutting in my near future.
