The Moon Inn
The Moon Inn by Helen in Wales
The Moon Inn, a photo by Helen in Wales on Flickr.

26/52 for the group T189ers weekly alphabet challenge.

This week's theme: M is for Moon

Our excellent admin had foreseen the possibility of cloudy skies so had thoughtfully provided a stock photo of the moon for us to add to our photos if we wanted. I therefore took advantage of the gloomy day and turned the Bull Inn in Caerleon into the mysterious Moon Inn.

Behind this cut is the original photo that was tweaked in PhotoShop to produce the image above.

Of course you would! I only wish it were real, then I could buy you a drink there. :)

Fun! Good of the inn to have a round logo, wasn't it?

It was the round logo (actually The Bull) that gave me the idea!

Yes, I wondered how the sky was so black when it was seemingly light out.

I was trying for a slightly fantastic air to the picture, which I think more or less works. If my desktop computer wasn't on its last legs, I might have played with the sky more and also tried to do more subtle shadows in the street to make it look more realistic. But I do try not to waste too much time fiddling with something that was just a bit of fun. :)

Lovely - I did wonder for a moment - how you managed to get a photograph of the Full Moon when it still has a week to go!
