George III hotel, Penmaenpool

34/52 for the group 52 of 2012

This week'e theme: Architecture

I found this difficult last year because owing to being in the Snowdonia National Park, there are no fancy new architect designed buildings. Neither do we have any grand old ones, but this is a nice example of Victorian railway architecture.

This building began life as the station on the now closed line between Dolgellau and Barmouth. It has now been converted into extra accommodation for the hotel next door.

Thanks. There will be more photos tomorrow, along with an explanation as to why I was cycling past there.

Ah, that explains the "Parcels and Left Luggage" sign. Very sharp photo, interestingly building.

Yes, they've left the sign up to indicate the building's original purpose.

I'm too tired to write a full blog post tonight, but I'll explain tomorrow why I was cycling past the George III. :)
