Pig & hyacinths
Pig & hyacinths by Helen in Wales
Pig & hyacinths, a photo by Helen in Wales on Flickr.

12/52 for the group T189 alphabet challenge

The set theme was: F is for From behind

Also F is for Fragile flowers.

Pig is a small soft toy that was presented to my husband by some of his students as a Christmas present. The hyacinths were for Mother's Day from our son. They were part of a larger bouquet, but I have had to quarantine the hyacinths in the conservatory where I can see but not smell them. I think they are beautiful flowers and I actually like the perfume in small whiffs, but if I am in the same room as them, they give me a headache and make me feel queasy. :(

love this!
Hyacinths are in my top four flowers - the others being wisteria, lilacs, and hydrangea.
I adore their fragrance but you're right, it can be a bit overwhelming.
Nicely done, you!

It's not just that I find it overpowering, it actually triggers sick headaches, possibly some sort of migraine? As a fragrance, I actually like it in small doses. It just doesn't like me. :(

Bummer, but I completely understand. No sense triggering a headache just to enjoy the scent of a flower.
I had a teacher in college who couldn't abide ANY fragrance at all....First day of class she had a mask on and said that in no uncertain terms would she tolerate the use of any kind of after shave or perfume in her classroom. No that's just sad!
