Stop for a moment and... - Helen's journal and online home
In which an old dog attempts to learn new tricks.
Stop for a moment and...
...hop out of the car into the pouring rain and snap a picture of the buttercups.

The farmer must have taken advantage of the good weather last week to cut the meadow for silage. The grass on the verge in the foreground is still luxuriant and liberally sprinkled with buttercups.

I nearly didn't get a picture today because it's poured on and off so I've been working on my new crochet project most of the day. However, I did need to go shopping and I managed a quick detour.

I don't ever want to see a buttercup again!! They seem to have infested everywhere this summer. And how they send out such a web of branches through the grass!

Oh, I dont mind them as long as they stay out of the vegetable plot.

As we don't have anything resembling a "lawn", I welcome anything that adds a bit of colour. However, these are innocent of any lawn invasion because they are just growing on the roadside verge.
