Paper plane
Paper plane by Helen in Wales
Paper plane, a photo by Helen in Wales on Flickr.

32/52 for the group T189 alphabet challenge

The set theme was: P is for Panning

My first thougt was cyclists, but when I wandered out this morning, the Mawddach cycle trail was incredibly quiet and I only saw two cyclist, neither of whom were moving fast enough for a good panning effect.

And then I had an idea... This is a bit of a cheat in that the paper plane wasn't thrown, I held it at arm's length and spun round, taking the photo as I did so. I used PhotoShop to clone out the hand and arm, but the panning is real.

That's pretty slick! Nicely constructed shot.

Thanks. I've been a bit distracted from photography recently, so it was something of a last minute improvisation, so I'm glad it worked.

My goodness, that's well done! I would never have thought of how to do it.

Interesting! So where was your hand originally?

I held it at arm's length and spun round, taking the photo as I did so...

... And somehow managed not to fall over in a dizzy heap...

Impressed!
